A fisherman in Florida was caught in the middle of a massive sea monster while trying to rescue a shipwrecked woman.
The fisherman was helping to tow a broken boat that had capsized, CNN affiliate WKMG reported.
The boat was nearly 100 miles from shore when the vessel sank, WKMF reported.
The vessel is a 27-foot-long fishing boat, WLSN reported.
“I was standing in the water when the boat came up,” said one witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak publicly.
“It was a horrible sight.”
The witness said she was able to swim out to the water to rescue the woman.
“There were two of them in the boat,” she said.
“One was in the hull and the other was holding the rope.
The Coast Guard said in a statement that the woman was able a nearby home to help her.””

“She was found and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” the statement said.
“A preliminary investigation has determined that the boat was traveling southbound when it sank.
We have determined that it was attempting to tow the vessel that sank from a pier in Boca Raton, Florida.”
The vessel’s owner has not been identified.
