The Navy is planning to install a $7.5 billion floating docks at the mouth of the Paracel Islands in the South China sea for the patrol vessels of the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet.
The Navy announced the decision Thursday during a news conference in New York City.
The floating docks will be on the Parochial Islands in waters near the disputed Spratly Islands and the Paraiso Islands, a Chinese island group, Reuters reported.
The Paracels are the largest of two disputed islands in the Spratlys.
